Illegal Beer Production Facility Uncovered in Mingachevir: 198 Tons of Finished Products Seized
The State Tax Service (STS) has carried out another large-scale operation targeting the illegal circulation of excise goods.
According to the STS, inspections conducted to strengthen tax compliance raised serious suspicions about unregistered beer production and sales at a manufacturing facility located on A. Shaig Street in the city of Mingachevir.
During an оперативe inspection, authorities discovered that the facility, owned by sole proprietor Khayyam Aydin oghlu Taghiyev, had been operating entirely illegally without being registered with the tax authorities.
The inspection uncovered a significant volume of illicit products and raw materials, including:
- 198,000 liters (198 metric tons) of beer ready for sale;
- Numerous specialized tanks intended for filling and storing beer;
- 14 metric tons of barley malt of unknown origin with no supporting documentation;
- 300 kilograms of brewer's yeast and more than 2 metric tons of various production raw materials.
The violations were officially documented, and legal measures were taken against the business owner in accordance with Azerbaijani legislation.
The State Tax Service once again urged all businesses to comply with tax laws and avoid operating within the shadow economy. The agency also reaffirmed that it will continue to strictly monitor the production and circulation of excise goods in order to ensure fair competition and maintain a transparent business environment.
