Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, has been ranked as the world's most livable city for the second year in a row.
According to Faktxeber.az, citing the BBC, the results were published in the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU)'s 2026 Global Liveability Index.
The annual ranking evaluates 173 cities worldwide based on five key criteria: stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure.

Copenhagen achieved perfect scores in the categories of stability, education, and infrastructure. The Danish capital also received one of the highest ratings for culture and environment.
Laura Amira Kassem, a student living in Copenhagen, told the BBC that one of the city's greatest strengths is the ease of everyday life. According to her, residents can cycle to work, enjoy a swim in the harbor after work, and return home comfortably in the evening. She also noted that group evening runs in Fælledparken are a popular community activity.
Vienna, Austria's capital and the runner-up in the ranking, received top marks for healthcare and education. Residents say the city's rich historical heritage is part of everyday life, with iconic architecture visible even during a routine tram commute.
Melbourne, ranked third, outperformed Sydney in the Culture and Environment category, while Sydney, in fourth place, earned perfect scores for healthcare and education.
Rounding out the top five, Zurich is praised by its residents for efficient urban management, exceptional cleanliness, and easy access to nature. The city's lake and rivers are an integral part of daily life, while its ability to restore spotless streets shortly after large public festivals is frequently highlighted as one of Zurich's standout features.
