Body of Prince Albert II of Monaco’s 29-Year-Old Relative Found
The body of Antoine de Massy, the 29-year-old great-nephew of Prince Albert II of Monaco, has been discovered.
Faktxeber.az reports that the French newspaper Monaco-Matin published the information.
According to reports, Antoine was last seen leaving a nightclub shortly before his death. He was reportedly believed to be intoxicated. When he failed to attend a family lunch the following day, his relatives became concerned and contacted the police. Several hours later, his body was found in a park behind the Villa Sauber.
Investigators examining security camera footage identified a person who had been near the scene and took them into custody. According to local media reports, the suspect is a Ukrainian citizen living in Monaco. However, the prosecutor’s office has not yet confirmed this information.
Investigators are also considering the possibility that the incident was an accident. One theory suggests that Antoine may have fallen into gardens located below a road. The exact cause of his death remains under investigation.
Antoine was the son of Baron Christian Louis de Massy and Cécile Gelabale, and the grandson of Princess Antoinette. He did not hold an official title and largely stayed out of the public eye.
In his youth, Antoine was a professional tennis player. After ending his sporting career, he turned to business.
Prince Albert II and his wife, Princess Charlene, have also issued a statement regarding the incident. In a written statement released on behalf of the Princely Palace, they expressed their condolences to the deceased’s family and loved ones and acknowledged his achievements in sports.
